چکیده

Generalized Multiprotocol Label Switching (GMPLS) is being applied to optical networks as a means of moving control functionality from the management plane to the control plane, and automating lightpath provisioning and maintenance. GMPLS enables IP networks with Quality of Service (QoS) to be traffic engineered efficiently. However, computation of explicitly-defined paths optimizing network performance is a difficult task. Previous versions of these optimization routines have not taken path delay, including queueing delay at layer 3, into account. In this paper we present a technique for traffic engineering in optical networks that support QoS considering the traffic flows with delay QoS constraint across lambda labeling networks. The proposed mechanism would facilitate lambda label path setup with specific dealy QoS requirements.

A New Preemption Avoidance and Load Balancing Policy for Traffic Engineering in Mpls Networks

The objective of traffic engineering is to optimize resource efficiency and network performance. Its study issue is to make the use of the available bandwidth in IP backbone networks effectively. MPLS (Multi-Protocol Label Switching) approach proposed by the IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force) is a new technology that facilitates significantly the process of traffic engineering. In MPLS netw...

Inter-domain LSP setup using bandwidth management points

Bandwidth Management Points (BMP) are a necessity to manage the intra and inter-domain resources in the Internet. In this paper we propose a way to setup inter-domain Label Switched Path (LSP) with the help of a BMP in a MultiProtocol Label Switching (MPLS) over Diffserv network. We use extended Simple Inter-domain Bandwidth Broker Signalling Protocol (SIBBS) to distribute the labels inter-doma...

On the Performance of MPLS TE Queues for QoS Routing

Traffic engineering (TE) refers to techniques and processes to route traffic through a network on a path other than that would have been chosen if standard routing methods had been used. The goal of traffic engineering to a service provider is to maximize the utilization of network resources, and/or enhance QoS a service provider can offer. To justify the increase in network operational complex...

Routing bandwidth - guaranteed paths with restoration in label - switched networks q

A network service provider (NSP) operating a label-switched networks such as ATM or multi-protocol label switching (MPLS) networks, sets up end-to-end bandwidth-guaranteed label-switched paths (LSPs) to satisfy the connectivity requirements of its client networks. To make such a service highly available the NSP may setup one or more backup LSPs for every active LSP. The backup LSPs are activate...

Network Working Group Crankback Signaling Extensions for Mpls and Gmpls Rsvp-te Status of This Memo

In a distributed, constraint-based routing environment, the information used to compute a path may be out of date. This means that Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) and Generalized MPLS (GMPLS) Traffic Engineered (TE) Label Switched Path (LSP) setup requests may be blocked by links or nodes without sufficient resources. Crankback is a scheme whereby setup failure information is returned from...
